The article "Do We Have the Courage to Stop This?" by Nicholas D. Kristof is about how it should be harder in the USA to get/purchase a gun. Like how they got a whole lot of rules to purchase a car.
In the article it says "It is more difficult to adopt a pet than it is to buy a gun." This means it is more rules and regulations to buying a pet than their is to buy a pet. In the article it also says "The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has five pages of regulations about ladders, while federal authories shrug at serious limitations on firearm. Ladders kill around 300 Americans a year, and guns 30,000." This means that The Occupational Safety and Health Administration care more about ladders that are killing 300 people, than guns that are killing 30,000 people a year.
I do think their should be more regulations on guns. People don't treat them as serious as other things. Guns are killing most Americans. People have more safety rules on dumb things like ladders, than guns. Guns should have more rules and regulations to make it harder for Americans to get a gun.
This article make me think why don't people care about putting rules on guns. Trying to make it harder for people to get one. This article makes me think would people put ragulations on guns.

Marijuana Decriminalization
In the article "Marijuana law just creates criminals" by Hakeem Jeffries is about how the marijuana law makes huge amounts of people go to jail.
In the article it says "Despite this change in law, arrests for small quantities of marijuana over the last decade have skyrocketed, with more than 400,000 people arrested and unceremoniously run through the criminal justice system." This means that over the last 10 years 400,000 people have been sent to jail. In the article it also says "A majority of these arrests happen only in certain neighborhoods. Indeed, compounding the injustice is the fact that 85% of the people arrested are African American and Latino." This means that 85% of the 400,000 people that have been sent to jail where black and Latino.
I think that people shouldn't get locked for small amounts of weed. I think that it is ridiculousness for 400,000 people to be sent to jail for a small amount of weed. Sometimes weed can be your medicine.

This make me think deeper into the topic because 85% out of 400,000 people are African American and Latino. What do other people think about people being sent to jail for small amounts weed, mostly African American's and Latino's. Do people think it's good they are arresting people for small amounts before they turn into big amounts of weed?
Kobe Byrant 30K Points
The article "Kobe Bryant youngest to 30,000" by Dave McMenamin is about Kobe Byrant scoring 30,000 points Dec. 5th, 2012 against the New Orleans Hornets. He is also 1 of the other 5 to score 30,000 points in the NBA all-time.
In the article it says, "Bryant made a slashing right-handed runner in the lane with 1:16 remaining in the second quarter against the New Orleans Hornets, giving him 30,001 career points at just 34 years,". This means Kobe got his 30,000 point against the New Orleans Hornets with just 1 minute and 16 seconds remaining in the second quarter. In the article it says "Bryant joins Chamberlain (31,419 points), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928) and Michael Jordan (32,292) as the only five players in NBA history to reach the 30,000-point plateau." This means that Kobe Byrant joins the other 4 players in the NBA to hit 30,000 points.
I think Kobe is one of the best players in the NBA. He had lots of achievements. He had great achievements. Kobe accomplished a good achievement by scoring the 30,000 points.
What do other Kobe fans think about his accomplishment? How do non-Kobe fans think about his accomplishment? This makes me think Kobe Byrant can be on the Hall of Fame. I think deeper in the topic because Kobe Byrant is my favorite basketball player. It makes me think what else can he accomplish.

16-Year-Olds Driving
The article "Should 16-year-olds drive?" by Ted Gregory is about how people talk about should 16-ye ar-olds drive or not. Some say yes, some say no.
In the article the Hinsdale Central High School sophomore said "I don't think it matters what age you are, as long as you have the practice and experience." This means this person don't care if your 10, if you past you driving test you are cable of driving. Brent Johnston, a driving teacher at Hinsdale Central said "That's like saying we'er not going to let any kid get near a pool or lake or ocean and drownings will do down,". He is comparing kids drowning in water to teenagers dying in car accidents and motor accident. So he is saying you cant stop kids from swimming so the drowning rate can drop, so you cant stop teenagers to stop driving so the car or motor accidents rate can go down.
I agree with the people that say 16-year-olds-should drive. I do because 16-year-olds have responsibilities to be place at a certain time. Like going to school and work. Sometimes the public transportation don't be running or run late. So this cause them to be late to school or work.
I did think deeper into the article because i'm not 16 yet and I would want a car to drive to work or school.

The Patriots Chance of Making it to the Super Bowl
The article "Can the Patriots Make the Super Bowl?" by James Walker comments about the chances of the New England Patriots of making it to the super bowl this year. It talks about how the Patriots locked up the AFC East.
In the article it says "When you have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, you always have a shot." This means with QB Tom Brady and Head Coach Bell Belichick, the patriots will always have a chance to make it to the Super Bowl. The article also says "The Patriots (6-3) have virtually locked up the AFC East. The Buffalo Bills (3-6), New York Jets (3-6) and Miami Dolphins (4-5) are not threats to the Patriots." This means the Patriots will be AFC East Champs this year because the other teams don't have a chance of beating the patriots.
I think the Patriots will be AFC East Champs and make the Super Bowl this year. I do agree with James Walker when he says the Patriots locked down the AFC East. I think the Patriots are weak in its pass defense but it might change because they got CB Aqib Talib, DE Chandler Jones, and LB Brandon Spikes. I don't think the Patriots are the best in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans are better than them.
How would the Patriots fan react if the Patriots don't make it to the Super Bowl? What if the Patriots lose the rest of their games, how would their fans react? What if Tom Brady got injured against the Indianapolis Colts? What if the Patriots pass defense slip up in the next games?

Reactions To Obama Win Vary
The article "Yay! Boo! So? Reactions to Obama win vary" by Peter Mucha is about different people stating their opinion on Obama being reelected. Some people don't care. Some people are happy he won. The others are mad/angry.
A lady, Barbara Drucker, a 61 year old Collingswood flight attendant said "I'm thrilled to death. I would never have voted for Romney on women's issue alone." Her statement means she was happy that Obama have been reelected. A man, Chuck Rihl, at the age 51 said "I'm not happy, I haven't had a job in years." His statement means he was mad/angry. A lady, Lisa Pierce, a 30 year old medical research coordinator from Conshocken said "I'm pretty indifferent; either way they need to get their act together,". Her statement mean she don't care about the elections.
I'm one of the people that are happy that Obama has been reelected. He keep many people hopes up of making themselves useful. I think that Mitt Romney did put up a good race in the beginning, but it didn't carry through the end.

Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now?
The article "Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now?" is about climate change. It's also about hurricanes, and Hurricane Sandy (Our recent hurricane). How hurricanes destroying our economy.
In the article it says "Humans created climate change." Humans probably created climate change by air pollution and other pollution. The article also says "climate change adds moisture to the atmosphere, which means that storms come with more rain and more flooding" This means the more climate change, the more moisture goes into the atmosphere. Which would cause lots of rain and flooding. James E. Hansen says "For the extreme hot weather of the recent past, their is virtually no explanation other than climate change." This means that climate change is the reason for the extreme hoe whether. The article also says "we may not want to rebuild in some coastal areas that have been hammered by Sandy." This means that they will not rebuild in some coastal areas that have been damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
I think climate change and hurricanes is very important to humans and their economy. I think many people should pay attention to climate change and hurricanes. I think so because to much climate change could really do damage to our economy. Also, that people should pay attention to the pollution they put in the air, and try to limit it.
This article makes me think about how hurricanes destroy families and economies. Will those who think they are causing climate change stop. Do people care about how hurricanes effect other people? Will people help other people recover from Hurricane Sandy.

Pills To Help In School
The article "Attentions Disorders or Not, Pills to Help in School" is about Dr.Anderson giving students pills for their poor academics performance in inadequate schools. The pills are not for students A.D.H.D., it's just used to boost their academic performance.
These pills were made because it's too expensive to expensive to change the environment. In the article Dr.Anderson says "'We've decided as a society that it's too expensive to change the kid's environment. So we have to change the kid.'" This mean that it cost to much to change the environment around the kid, so there going to just to change how the act in the environment.
I think this topic is very important because these kids need special help. This happen because of the low-income elementary school and parents. The parents or schools can't afford to get the help they need for the students/children.
This article remind me of me a little bit. I say that because like these kids, I got easily distracted. I use to be hyperactive. This article makes me think the parents should try to help their kids on their academic performance. Or they can try something new. I wonder if the parents or schools really care about the kids. I also wonder if the parents ever get the help they need for their kids. Will schools change their learning environment?

Peanut-Butter Increase It's Price
The article "Peanut-Butter Makers Face Crunch" by Paul Ziobro is about how the peanut-butter brands are increasing their price. They increased the price for the tons of peanuts used to make peanut butter.
In the story it says "Wholesale prices for big-selling Jif are going up 30% starting in November, while Peter Pan will raise prices as much as 24%." This shows that the original price would be a dollar more starting in November. Also in the story a spokeswomen said "Kraft Foods Inc., which launched Planters peanut butter in June, is raising prices 40% on Oct. 31." This mean that 40% will be added to the original price of Kraft Food Inc. peanut-butter on Oct. 31.
I think they should increase the price of peanut-butter. I think so because their is a lot of peanuts used to make peanut-butter. Also because, the peanut farmers have to plant the peanuts in the dry weather and their not getting paid enough. One farmer said "'I don’t remember a year that you didn’t catch a shower or had so little moisture in the ground to get the seed up'"
No this article don't reflect on me or what i did in life. It did a little bit make me think deeper into the topic. This article makes me wonder if your parents will still go out and but peanut-butter over the next year. Or would a 30% increase of the prices of peanut-butter reduce how much peanut-butter your parents buy.
